"I love this book! I’m only on day 7, but it has been such an encouragement and uplifting. I have discovered things about myself and my needs as I journal each day and how to deal with them. I have spent quality time with my precious Lord and been strengthened each day and inspired. I can’t wait to get into it each morning. For me it’s like being on a retreat or at camp. I sit and drink coffee and journal while I’m here at camp and then go out and take my morning walk with the Lord. I recommend it for anyone who wants to spend some special time with the Lord."

- When I first started reading Whispers and Wildflowers I had no idea how much I needed to slow down and listen. I had not realize how I have been so busy throughout the day that I forgot to just be still and listen. With each chapter I found myself doing just that. I learned to take the time through out the day to just be in the moment and listen to my heart and what God was saying. The journal in the book has really encouraged me to think and to develop habits to help me along the journey. I am so thankful that I found this book to help me on my path and journey with God.
- This beautiful book encourages you to delight in your quiet and intimate times with the Lord as it draws you into His word, his whispers, and moments of reflection to journal your thoughts. I look forward to going to the garden where the Lord is waiting for me each day with this beautiful book to help guide me there. Sarah Beth Marr so graciously and beautifully paints the picture of God's whispers and reminds us of who we are in Christ. For every girl and woman who yearns for quiet time with the Lord in the midst of busyness and crowdedness, this book is excellent to help you make it a daily pattern to draw closer and deeper with the one who decks us with wildflowers. It is also wonderful to pair up with sisters in Christ and journey through quiet time with the Lord together!
- My very first thought was, "This book is gorgeous!" Isn't the cover just beautiful. I was so attracted to the book because of the cover. Then I opened it and found beautiful biblically based devotionals that were both encouraging and challenging. Sarah Beth draws from scripture, her personal life experiences, others' experiences etc to weave a beautiful text that is easy to read and understand. I found myself wanting to spend time quietly with the Lord and let him into the garden of my heart. The prayers are great and the reflection questions are perfectly paired with the devotionals. They help the reader connect with the Lord on an intimate level. I did feel the devotionals were a little long. They could have been shortened a bit and not lose any effectiveness. Other than that I loved this book.
I received a copy from the publisher. I was in no way required to write a positive review. All thoughts are my own. - I love beautiful things, and this devotional is what this is, though it much more. The author Sarah Beth Marr, is an artist, a dancer, who enjoys gardening and you will see that as she shares her passion as she focuses on drawing near to God through it. Whispers and Wildflowers ~ 30 Days to Slow Your Pace, Savor Scripture and Draw Closer to God is a devotional and journal in one. If you are going through a season of busyness, suffering, weariness, distraction, or feel like you are missing closeness to God. This devotional will help you let go of the what is weighing you down and point you to draw near to God and savor His Word. This may take some pulling of “weeds†and digging through stuff, but those are for your good. When we are close to God, we gain so much more, than what this world has to offer. Many times when we are feeling weary, the last thing we want to turn to is God’s truth. So instead, we turn to things that we think will satisfy us or what we feel we deserve, and those things we turn to, only temporary fill and often times actual deplete us more. We need the Word of God that gives life, not let our feelings rule us.
This devotional encourages you to take a break from something that is crowding you, so you can turn from that and instead to God more. Of course, we can’t take a break from certain things, but something that is causing stress or taking our attention away from what matters, may be what is needed for such a time. It could be something on your calendar, social media, etc… As she says there is nothing bad about our work, phones, social media, calendars, but sometimes those things cause us to miss out one the peace, joy and time with God. God is the One who does the transforming in our hearts, and He will be the One to fill you with His joy as you seek His presence and trust Him with your life. That is coming from a part of one of her daily devotionals. Included with the daily devotional is Scripture to meditate on, and questions to challenge you in growing in your faith. These will take you about 15 minutes or more a day. Not something to rush through but to really sit with, pray, and to live out.
