The translations are okay, but the overall thing is a bit amateur. The pictures are poor quality. They look like they have been cut and pasted together, then scanned, and printed. Heads look drawn, while bodies are under-pixelated blurs that clearly don't go together (a little hard to see in photo, but blatant in person). The backgrounds are random computer backgrounds it looks like--not even nature. While those poorly composed images take up an entire page at a time, you then have pages of straight text from top to bottom with little margin. It's not an ideal layout for a kid's book, and it's terribly done. If one of my students had created this as an assignment, I might be impressed, but to have spent money for this? It's a huge let down.
I wanted an easy way to brush up on my high school German, and these dual language books are great (no having to constantly switch between the book and the dictionary to look up the words I've forgotten.) I love the illustrations, too. I hope there will be more!
Wanted to have a version of this for my niece. The book isn't as high quality in terms of printing as I had hoped, but I supposed the price should have reflected that.
