• This book was on a list of the ten best books on Machine Embroidery. I do not live in the UK so welcomed the opportunity to learn more about the experience of the contributors and the unique historic machines used in their creative process. An admirer of vintage textiles I found the answers to how things I had long admired and not understood were created by Cornely and Singer Irish machines. As a fiber artist the writers made me think about the machine stitch and its use and interpretation. I am totally pleased with my purchase and the inspiration it continues to provide.
• This book is about artists who use certain industrial embroidery machines that the average crafter or textile artist has no access to. The images are beautiful, and there's a lot of history about the machines, but I probably would not have bought it had I known that these were the dominant "perspectives" being explored here.
